The Shallow Sand Filter is an efficient automatic filtration system designed for industrial, municipal, and irrigation water treatment applications. Utilizing a shallow bed of high-quality filtration media, the system provides excellent removal of suspended solids, algae, and fine particles while maintaining low pressure loss and high filtration efficiency.
Unlike conventional deep-bed media filters, the shallow media design enables rapid filtration, shorter backwash cycles, lower backwash water consumption, and more uniform media cleaning. Multiple filtration units can be operated in parallel to accommodate various flow capacities while ensuring continuous and reliable operation.
Equipped with an intelligent automatic backwash control system, the Shallow Sand Filter is widely used for cooling water treatment, irrigation systems, reclaimed water reuse, seawater pretreatment, industrial process water, and municipal water treatment applications.
Operation Guide
System Start-up
Verify that the filter media is correctly installed and all valves are in operating position before starting the feed pump.
Filtration Process
Water enters each filter vessel uniformly and passes through the shallow quartz sand layer where suspended particles are retained.
Automatic Backwash
When differential pressure reaches the preset value, one vessel automatically performs backwashing while other vessels remain in filtration mode.
Return to Filtration
After cleaning, the vessel automatically resumes normal filtration without interrupting system operation.
Maintenance Guide
Inspect pressure gauges regularly.
Monitor differential pressure.
